How can you help?

If you are in a position to give, the organizations listed below would appreciate your time, help, and donations.

United Way of Central Iowa have launced the United Way Relief Fund to help support the community in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Their community needs a vast amount of resources to recover. United Way's first priority is safety, and providing shelter, and basic needs like food, and water.

AHeinz57 is taking a van full of supplies down to shelters in Texas, and are bring back as many dogs as they can. If you would like to donate items, you can drop them off at the AHeinz57 building in Desoto, Bone-a-Patreat, or at Petsakes on Euclid. They are in desperate need of wire crates, water bowls, food dishes, collars, leashes, bedding, cat litter, litter boxes, cat beds, and paper towels. They are also accepting donations for gas to get down and back.

Food Bank of Iowa is helping distribute food and other nonperishble items to those impacted by Hurricane Harvey. 

LifeServe has been sending blood donations to hurricane-impacted areas in Texas. They are urgning eligible donors, especially those with Type O blood, to donate as soon as possible.
