AMES, Iowa - Ames Police have issued arrest warrants for a man they believe was involved in a robbery at an Ames duplex on Monday.
On Monday, just after 11:30 a.m., Ames Police responded to a report of an armed robbery and shots fired at 3817 Marigold Drive. Witnesses told officers that two males entered the duplex and demanded money and other property. The men assaulted one of the residents and fired a handgun into a television.
The suspects stole several items from the residents and then escaped on foot headed north. The assault victim suffered minor injuries and was later treated at Mary Greeley Medical Center.
Witnesses gave the following descriptions of the suspects:
Suspect #1- Black male, early 20’s, height 6’00”- 6’02”, approximate weight 250 pounds, facial hair, wearing a yellow shirt and jeans. This suspect was armed with a handgun.
Suspect #2- Black male, early 20’s, height 5’11”-6’00”, approximate weight 180 pounds, facial hair, wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
Follow-up investigation by the Ames Police Department identified Suspect #2 as Jeremy Devon McCorley, 25, of Ames. Arrest warrants have been issued for charges of Robbery 1st Degree and Assault While Participating in a Felony.
