DES MOINES, Ia. - One of the oldest neighborhoods in Des Moines is offering a unique way for history buffs to see what all it has to offer.
The "Doors to the Past" walking tour in the Sherman Hill neighborhood is celebrating 40 years.
The tours are self-guided and feature interior/exterior home tours, live entertainment, beautiful gardens, and more.
One of the homes highlighted in the tour is rumored to have been a speak-easy during the days of Prohibition.
This tour of history and architecture runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm over the next two weekends (Sat 9/16, Sun 9/17, Sat 9/23, and Sun 9/24).
