'Fire Prevention Week' kicks off in Iowa

DES MOINES, Ia. - Stop, drop, and roll.

It's a simple instruction, but it has life-saving potential.

The Des Moines Fire Department kicked off "Fire Prevention Week" with an open house event for families on Sunday.

Firefighters answered questions and demonstrated different ways to get out of dangerous situations.

They also set up a trailer, which allowed kids to practice what they learned.

Their key piece of advice is to have a plan, and a back-up ready to go in case of an emergency.
