Gov. Branstad moves one step closer to U.S. Ambassador position

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Senate has voted to move forward Iowa Governor Terry Branstad's nomination to be the United States Ambassador to China for a full Senate vote. 

With 86 "yea" votes and 12 "nay" votes, Gov. Branstad's nomination will move to a final Senate vote, which could come as soon as Monday.
