Grassley dropped from tax committee

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sen. Chuck Grassley took to social media Thursday morning to discuss his position on the Senate-House joint conference committee on the tax plan.

Grassley announced he was dropped from the committee, and he tweeted to President Donald Trump.

It's not clear if Grassley was removed from the committee for his recent comments on the estate tax. His statements were widely criticized and shared across social media. Grassley said that working people spend all their money on “booze or women or movies." He later said his statements were taken out of context. T

The Senate voted on Wednesday to go to a conference committee with the House to discuss the tax reform bill.

Local 5 has reached out to Grassley's office for comment, but has not received a statement.
