Before you start up your holiday shopping, an annual report on hazardous toys and toy safety is out.
The "Trouble in Toyland" survey from the U.S. Public in Interest Research Group looks at more than 200 toys sold at major retailers and dollar stores.
Here's the takeaway- not as many toxic toys were found as previous years. But there are still some flagged as dangerous. The hazards include toxic chemicals, choking threats, and extremely loud toys.
"As a mom I understand that these reports can certainly seem to be frightening but it's important to know that all toys sold in the United States must comply with very strict U.S. product safety requirements which is something that PIRG themselves acknowledge," said Rebecca Mond, Senior Director of the Federal Government Affairs at Toy Industry Association.
Only one toy tested showed lead levels higher than new federal limits, so you'll want to watch out for this one: it's called the Morphobot Action Figure.
