Info On Two Texas Lawyers Sought After In Hot Lotto Case

DES MOINES - Officials with the Iowa Department of Public Safety's Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is asking for the public's help in a major lottery ticket investigation.

On Tuesday, the state Attorney General's office filed an application for subpoenas related to it's investigation in the Hot Lotto case involving former lottery employee Eddie Tipton and his brother, Tommy Tipton. Both brothers are linked to a criminal network alleged to have won fixed lottery jackpots in five states, including Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin. The subpoena requests are for records of Luis Vallejo, attorney in La Grange, Texas, and J. Thad Whisenant, an attorney in The Woodlands, Texas.

According to the notice, anyone with information about lottery-related actions or lottery-related statements by Vallejo or Whisenant, or any relationship either man has with Eddie or Tommy Tipton, is encouraged to call DCI at 515-967-1257.
