After making it to the Top 3 on 'American Idol', Maddie Poppe arrived back home in Iowa Monday evening before her Tuesday concert at the Butler County Fairgrounds.
"Just to be here, I think it's gonna be a weird realization," Poppe said. "But I'm here for it. I'm excited."
It's a hometown celebration for Clarksville, Iowa, and plenty of supporters are expected to show up Tuesday night—including one special person.
"I watched Maddie at church, sing in Sunday School," said Mike Ruby, who is organizing Tuesday's concert. "She was on the backstage setup crew ... helping set up concerts for other acts."
Local 5 will have full coverage of Maddie Poppe's celebration day in her hometown, which includes a ceremony with the Clarksville mayor and a parade.
