Man fires at state troopers, has brief standoff

DES MOINES - State Troopers have a man in custody after a brief standoff on I-80 Thursday night.

Troopers and local police got a call of a "shots fired" report along I-80 East of the 265 mile marker. According to police, the suspect then drove westbound and got off at the 265 exit, where he fired more rounds at motorists at the BP gas station. When state troopers got to County RD X46, the suspect and police engaged in gunfire. After a brief standoff, the suspect was taken into custody. No one was hurt during the incident. 

There is an ongoing investigation at this time.
