COUNCIL BLUFFS - Rep. David Young (R-Iowa) and Democratic challenger Jim Mowrer will participate in their second debate for the third Congressional district Wednesday night.
The debate, hosted by Iowa Public Television, will be the pair's second meeting, after debating on Sunday in a radio format. IPTV is putting on the event in Council Bluffs at 8 p.m., and the debate will be available on the station's statewide network, as well as online.
Young has been leading Mowrer in recent polls, and his campaign has several ads attacking his foreign policy plan, among other things. Mowrer, meanwhile, has been tying Young to Donald Trump.
Mowrer is a veteran and father. He has never held public office, but has served as the Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of the Army. Young, on the other hand, is vying for his second term as Congressman for the third district. He previously served as Chief of Staff for Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).
