DES MOINES - State Sen. Nate Boulton is running for Iowa governor.
In an announcement video sent out early Thursday morning, Boulton made it clear he's running for the top job because he wants to fight for working class Iowans.
Boulton is a first-term state senator, but made several headlines this legislative session during the Planned Parenthood fight, the workers' compensation fight, and the contentious fight over collective bargaining.
Boulton is originally from eastern Iowa, and plans to make the official announcement in an event there later today. He currently lives and works as a lawyer in Des Moines.
