New technology is what draws farmers from all over the nation

BOONE- The latest and greatest technology is what draws ag enthusiasts from all over the nation and world.

The Farm Progress Show is in its' 63rd year and is in Boone every even year. It's a place where companies come to unveil their newest products, especially ones that push the future.

This year, Case IH unveiled their first autonomous concept vehicle. It's a tractor-like vehicle that does not require a driver and can be controlled from a tablet device. The tractor's path can be seen and controlled and also detects obstacles like other vehicles and poles.

Many farmers at the show told Local 5 they're doing a lot of looking and not a lot of buying this year due to the depressed agricultural economy. Iowa corn prices are sitting around $2.70 and soybeans are sitting around $9.00.

Local 5 News will be covering the last day of the Farm Progress Show Thursday.
