The Iowa Utilities Board takes more time to decide on Bakken, a cease fire agreement for Syria, new developments in the Brandon Ellingson case, Indian wins one over Iowa, and a bill to stop the Medicaid change over passes the Iowa Senate.
After a week of meetings, the Iowa Utilities Board still hasn't reached a decision on the Bakken Pipeline. Since Monday, they have been revealing what they learned during months of hearings and sworn testimony.
The board has asked its legal team to put together a pros and cons list on the project. They meet again next Friday.
Secretary of State John Kerry says major world powers have agreed to a cease fire in war-torn Syria, and will provide immediate aid to the country. Diplomats hope the cease fire can be fully implemented in just one week.
However, the agreement does not apply to any terror organization operating in Syria.
Missouri officer Anthony Piercy waived his arraignment Thursday. He faces an involuntary manslaughter charge in the death of Brandon Ellingson.
Piercy had arrested Ellingson for driving drunk on a boat in 2014. Ellingson fell overboard and drowned while handcuffed..
A jury trial will now be set.
The Iowa Hawkeyes headed to Indiana last night, facing the challenge of playing a dangerous Hoosier team on their home court. Despite solid numbers, the Hawkeyes unable to get the victory, and Indiana coming out on top 85 to 78.
They are now in a three-way tie for first in the Big Ten.
The fight to stop managed care in Iowa moves through the statehouse. The Iowa Senate passed a bill Thursday to terminate the contracts the state has with three companies, hoping to end Governor Branstad's plan for privatized Medicaid.
House Republicans say they will not even consider the bill when it arrives.
