MILWAUKEE, Wisc. - The ISU Cyclones tried to rally a win at the end of Saturday night's game against Purdue, but they fell short of a victory, ending the game 80-76.
The Purdue Boilermakers led the entire first half, at times by double digits. The Cyclones came back hard the second half, even topping Purdue at one point. But consistent baskets and outside shots by the Boilermakers' offense dominated the game, ending the Cyclones' dreams to make it to the Sweet 16 in Kansas City.
This is the third time in four years that ISU has failed to make it to the Sweet 16 matches. The team would have faced Kansas.
