DES MOINES - A family is grieving after a mother of 4 is killed in a single vehicle crash.
Family of Sheila Hensley said she was driving to a friends house when she lost control of her car and crashed into a power pole. Police said excessive speed was a contributor to the deadly crash.
Meanwhile, Hensley's family is holding on to loving and fun memories of her. They described her as "the calm in the storm." They continued to explain Hensley had a way of words and knew how to not only calm people down but she knew how to make everyone laugh.
Her family explained Hensley's number one priority was her children.
"They loved watching movies together," said her step mom.
Her step mom remembers how Hensley always loved making enchiladas. "She especially adored her one and only granddaughter," said her sister, Lisa Freeman.
Her granddaughter Harmony laughed as she talked about how her grandma would cheat while playing "Sorry" and other game boards.
In this time of pain the family said they'll cherish these times forever.
The family has set up a gofundme account to help with funeral costs.
