MAXWELL, Iowa - Story County deputies have arrested a woman they believe was involved in a shooting on Monday.

Deputies and medics responded to a medical call Monday afternoon near Maxwell.  When they arrived, they found that a man had been shot in the ankle.

Deputies say 66-year-old Dwight Carpenter, Jr was shot with a shotgun, by his niece, 33-year-old Candace Mosley, of Ames.  Mosley then fled the scene on a motorcycle.

Mosley was arrested early this morning, and will be charged with attempted murder.  She is currently being held at the Story County Jail on $100,000 bond.
