Energy Fall to Idaho

Des Moines, IA April 2, 2014 – The Iowa Energy fell to the Idaho Stampede on Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Arena.


The two teams battled in the first quarter, tying 6 times before the Energy took the 35-32 lead into the second quarter.


Iowa jumped out to a 12 point lead early in the second quarter before the Stampede made a run to cut Iowa’s lead to just one. The Energy took a 63-62 lead into the half.

The third quarter was all Idaho, as they outscored the Energy 32-16 behind top prospect Kevin Murphy. Murphy had 18 of his game high 38 points in quarter and gave Idaho the 94-79 lead heading into the final quarter.


The Energy made a run, cutting Idaho’s lead to just 5 behind Moses Ehambe’s 3-point shooting. Ehambe scored 10 of his team high 29 points in the final quarter, but the lead was too much and Idaho came away with the 119-110 victory. Iowa drops to 29-19 on the year as Idaho improves to 24-24.


The Stampede were led by Murphy’s 38 points.  Scott Machado finished with 13 points and 12 assists. Derrick Caracter added 20 points and 10 rebounds. Dee Bost had a near triple-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.


The Energy were led by Ehambe’s 29 points. Curtis Stinson had 12 points, 11 assists, and 7 rebounds. Othyus Jeffers added another double-double to his season, finishing with 13 points and 11 boards.
