Hawkeyes Land Grad Transfer RB James Butler on 4th of July

Nevada RB Butler Going to Iowa for Final Season

The Iowa Hawkeyes' backfield got a little more crowded on the 4th of July. It may be a good thing though. They picked up one of the top running backs in the country with grad transfer James Butler, who is coming from Nevada.

Butler ran for more than 1300 yards the past two seasons with the Wolf Pack. He also combined for 22 rushing touchdowns in the same span. He'll be a great addition for the Hawkeyes who are already returning Akrum Wadley for the 2017 slate. Butler announced his decision to join Iowa on twitter, saying he wanted to be closer to home for his final season of college eligibility.
