THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DES MOINES HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM CST SUNDAY. * SHORT TERM TRENDS...THIS MORNING WIND CHILL VALUES CONTINUE TO HOVER NEAR 20 BELOW ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION. OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS AS OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES DROP...WIND CHILLS WILL APPROACH 25 BELOW BETWEEN 4 AM AND 6 AM ACROSS THE REGION. * TIMING...TONIGHT WIDESPREAD SNOW WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE REGION OVERNIGHT...PERSISTING INTO SUNDAY. * STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...TONIGHT SNOW TOTALS WILL RANGE FROM 3 TO 5 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY IN THE NORTHEAST. * WINDS/VISIBILITY...THIS MORNING WINDS WILL BE NORTHWEST AT 5 TO 10 MPH. TONIGHT WINDS WILL BE FROM THE SOUTHEAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 30 MPH.
