After a pretty nice start to your Thursday, clouds and light rain have moved into central Iowa. We will see scattered rain and thundershowers hang around this evening, and then become much more prevalent on Friday. Our rain and thunderstorm chances increase by midday on Friday, and continue into the evening. We could see some isolated severe weather, some cells could produce heavy rain, gusty wind and hail. Saturday is shaping up to be dry and much cooler, with highs pushing only 70. High pressure moves in on Sunday and will hang around until Thursday. So we will see lots of sunshine and dry weather during that stretch. A chance for showers and storms returns late Thursday and into the weekend. Have a great evening! -Local 5 Meteorologist James Peterson
