2023 Iowa Kidney Walk to show support for kidney patients on Sunday

Kidney Walks are held in nearly 70 communities, raising money and amplifying the awareness of kidney disease across the country.

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — 37 million Americans have kidney disease, according to the American Kidney Fund

That's why Iowans are participating in the 2023 Iowa Kidney Walk to show support for kidney patients everywhere.

The walk will take place at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Kidney Walks are the signature fundraising events for the National Kidney Foundation. 

According to the organization's website, Kidney Walks are held in nearly 70 communities, raising money and amplifying the awareness of kidney disease across the country.

There is no registration fee to get involved, but all participants are asked to fundraise. To sign up for the Iowa Kidney Walk, click here.

So far, Kidney Walk participants in Iowa have raised $35,908 of their $75,000 goal. To donate to the cause, click here
