Kim Reynolds fended off a tough challenge from Fred Hubbell en route to a historic election victory. 

Reynolds is the first woman elected governor for the state of Iowa, bringing in 655,540 votes—50%. Hubbell came in at 48% with 619,062.

“I’m running to represent all Iowans in every single corner of this state and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to do that,” Reynolds said in her victory speech. 

Libertarian candidate Jake Porter totaled 20,877 votes (2%).
