DES MOINES — Local 5 News and Reporter/Anchor Sabrina Ahmed are proud to receive the prestigious Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Political Reporting.
You hear us say “We Are Iowa” in every one of our newscasts, it means that we get to tell the stories that reflect the communities where we live, your stories; and it’s an honor.
The story that won the award is called “Iowans Moving for Medicine.” It has also won a regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence in Hard News Reporting.
Sabrina Ahmed will travel to Washington, D.C. on April 28th to accept the award on behalf of the station.
