PELLA – Let’s get in the mood for some Dutch heritage with Pella Tulip Time Festival.
It’s the 84th annual festival.
There are 86 different varities of tulips this year.
The family-friendly event features parades, Dutch costumes, performances, vendors, and much more.
But, one thing on peoples minds is how the tulips are after the harsh winter months.
“With all the cold weather we had it’s the one flower in the world that loves cold weather,” explains Valerie Huyser, chair for the Tulip Time Committee. “So, they’re doing great. And as you can tell all around town they’re just amazing.”
The Tulip Time Committee spent 500 hours over the past year preparing for the festival.
It runs until Saturday, May 4.
