DES MOINES – The wife and estate of an Adventureland worker who died on the job is suing another worker and Adventureland.

The case was filed in Polk County court in March, but has since been moved to federal court. The estate of Stephen Booher is suing Stuart Glen, the Adventureland worker. Glen is being represented by Guy Cook of Des Moines. Cook is also a long-time legal counsel for Adventureland. He explained why the case was recently moved to federal court.

“We moved the case to federal court as the Boohers are not from Iowa nor Mr. Glen,” said Cook in an email to Local 5. “The federal court handles cases between citizens of different states. It is also better equipped to consider the legal issues in this case.”

The Boohers contend that when Stephen Booher was working the Raging River Ride on June 7, his co-worker, Glen, failed to ensure the ride was safe and failed to make sure Booher was ok when he fell onto the ride.

No trial date has been set yet for the case.
