It’s an Iowa winter, and while not everyone is happy about the snowfall a Johnston man has been waiting for days like Tuesday for months.

Mason Rumpf, 22, has been living with Cerebral Palsy since he was born. It limits his movements so he asked his friends and neighbors in August to help get him the money for an ActionTrak wheelchair that would allow him to do more.

The community raised the $15,000 in just a few weeks, and Rumpf has his new chair. He also has a snowplow attachment that’s keeping him busy. He’s able to clean off sidewalks and driveways in a few minutes on his own.

“He’s happy to see snow in the forecast, the more the better,” said family friend Joe Burkle.

Rumpf says he’s anxious to pay it forward and help people clear out their snow this winter.

“It’s really great, I’ll help a lot of friends out,” said Rumpf.
