After the battle between Frank Cownie and Jack Hatch resulted in a Tuesday night runoff election, the City of Des Moines has picked their mayor.
Frank Cownie won a fifth term as Mayor of Des Moines, totaling 51 percent of the Tuesday night vote.
Neither Cownie nor Hatch was able to total more than 50 percent of the vote on November 5, meaning the two were back on Tuesday’s runoff election ballot.
