UPDATE: Detectives have identified the man who was shot to death in Des Moines on Saturday afternoon. His name is John Lee Belcher.
Des Moines Police Department patrol officers and Des Moines Fire Department rescue personnel responded to a report of a shooting at 1930 Francis Ave. at approximately 3:46 p.m. Saturday.
Detectives have arrested 47-year-old Des Moines resident Stanley Wofford in connection with the shooting. He’s been charged with first-degree murder.
