DES MOINES — 40 years later, a family is still searching for answers after the death of their loved one.  On Friday, there was a  justice rally at the Polk County court house to remember Diane Schofield.

She was murdered at 21 years old in 1975, her body left in the trunk of her car near the Des Moines airport.  Her killers were never found and the case remains unsolved.  But ralliers today say it doesn’t have to be this way.

“We want her case reopened reinvestigated the family wants answers,” said Diane’s sister Twyla Johnson.  “We want new leads investigated, we want her name out there.  Some people aren’t meant to be forgotten and she’s one of them.”

They want your help to reopen the case for investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Des Moines police.
