Iowa is the 29th most fun state in the nation, according to a new study.
WalletHub ranked all 50 states across two key categories: Entertainment/Recreation and Nightlife.
Iowa’s “Entertainment & Recreation” rank came in at 38th, while “Nightlife” was 16th in the country. High marks were earned for the state’s movie theaters (4th most per capita) and golf courses/country clubs (2nd most per capita).
“We evaluated those categories using 26 relevant metrics,” WalletHub says. “Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 indicating the greatest number and variety of fun and cost-effective options.”
In a 2017 study from WalletHub, Des Moines was listed as the 88th most fun city in the United States.
