DES MOINES – As many people are still thawing out from Sunday’s storm, energy companies are working overtime to make sure power lines stay clear of ice.
MidAmerican Energy says they didn’t have any major outages with the past storm, and they’re planning to keep it that way. Preparations have already begun for the incoming storm.
Geoff Greenwood of MidAmerican Energy says “We’re always concerned when a weather system is forecasted to move in, this one’s no exception. however, based on the forecast, we don’t anticipate a significant impact to our system, what we’re most concerned about are cars that could hit our equipment as they slide on the streets. ”
MidAmerican wants to remind you that if you see one of those vans along the side of the road, give them plenty of room and slow down.
