DES MOINES – The Iowa Department of Public Safety announced new charges in their continuing lottery investigation Friday. Eddie Tipton was convicted of fraud and theft for rigging Hot Lotto earlier this year.

During a press conference Friday, an Iowa Department of Public Safety official said Tipton was involved in rigging two other lottery winnings. One involving Tipton’s brother and another involving a long-time friend of Tipton.

Tipton was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the Hot Lotto conviction in September, but has not yet started serving his sentence.
