WEST DES MOINES – Amber and Tyler Robinson learned their workout philosophy in South Dakota. The husband and wife duo have quickly grown to love the visitors at their West Des Moines facility, Krave Gym.

But eventually, the Robinsons wanted to expand their actual family.

“We were actually at church one day and I looked at Tyler and said ‘I think I’m ready’,” Amber Robinson says.

The two are now proud parents of Pierce, a 15-month-old boy who is the center of attention at the gym. An adorable baby with a contagious smile, Pierce was diagnosed with Down syndrome a week after his birth.

Young and healthy, the Robinsons were never given a recommendation to take a Down syndrome test during pregnancy. It was a diagnosis the Robinsons wish they knew about beforehand, but now realize it was all part of a better plan.

Pierce has an Instagram account with more than 17,000 followers, which is helping raise awareness about Down syndrome.
