DES MOINES – Community members and police officers helped renovate Evelyn K. Davis Park on Wednesday.
The playground is in a vulnerable neighborhood in Des Moines. It’s frequently used, but was in need of some major repairs. The community members were happy to help.
“We updated the equipment with modern equipment,” said Ben Page with the Des Moines Parks and Recreation.
The city and Des Moines Police spent all day working on the playground. A local charity donated $75,000 to renovate the park.
