CLIVE – If you work more than 40 hours a week, President Obama wants to make sure you get paid for it.
A new overtime law will take affect December 1st.

The owners of Table 128, a bistro in Clive, will have to make some major changes under the new federal mandate. The president’s new overtime law raises the salary threshold. It used to include salaried workers who made about 23-thousand a year or less. He’s raising that to include people who make less than 47-thousand per year. If they work more than 40 hours a week, they have to get overtime pay.

When Table 128 owner, Lynn Pritchard, heard of the president’s new overtime law he says his jaw dropped. “It’s just one more way the federal government is injecting themselves into how we operate our business.”
