This weekend, pond hockey players are taking over Minneapolis for the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships and among the teams, a squad out of Des Moines is competing for a championship in the Cedar Division. Team EEN is one of the 110 teams in the division. They went 2-0 on Friday and a couple of wins on Saturday will put them in the playoffs on Sunday. It’s a unique event that features 26 rinks on Lake Nokomis in the Twin Cities.
