Sheriff's office identifies motorcyclist killed after rear-ending truck in Bondurant

The accident happened around 8:40 p.m. Thursday. 32-year-old Andrew James Harwood was pronounced dead at the scene.

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Polk County Sheriff's Office has identified the 32-year-old motorcyclist killed in a Thursday night crash as Andrew James Harwood of Bondurant.

Harwood died after running into the back of a truck on Hubbell Avenue in Bondurant Thursday night, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. 

A press release from the sheriff's office says the accident happened around 8:40 p.m. Thursday. Preliminary evidence indicates Harwood drove his Honda into the back of a Chevrolet 2500 Box Truck in the 6300 block of NE Hubbell Avenue.

Authorities pronounced Harwood dead at the scene. The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident.
