WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa State Patrol has confirmed 65-year-old David Turner died in a crash that occurred on Highway 17 and NW 158th Avenue south of Madrid around 6:00 Sunday evening.
Two vehicles were involved in the crash, according to ISP.
According to the ISP crash report, Turner was driving west on NW 158th Avenue when he failed to stop at a stop sign. His car was struck by another vehicle head north.
The driver of that vehicle, 37-year-old Brooke Crooks, was injured in the crash and transported to Boone County Hospital, according the ISP crash report.
The passengers in that vehicle were treated at the scene and released.
Highway 17 was closed for a short time while first responders and law enforcement responded to the crash. The road in northwest Polk County has now reopened.
