What a crazy day of wintry weather in Iowa Friday! We started the day with freezing rain and sleet in western Iowa that made some roads pretty icy. We really didn't have too many issues here in central Iowa with slippery roads, but ice did coat many elevated surfaces including trees.

It will be dry heading into the morning as our temperatures stay in the 20s and wind chills hover in the 10s

We start Saturday with sunshine, but some clouds are likely to make an appearance during the afternoon which will tend to hold temps back a bit where they do develop. Most areas will stay in the mid to upper 40s for highs with those getting a little more sunshine closer to 50. It will be warmer and nicer for everyone heading into Sunday with highs near 60.

The really warm weather is still in the forecast for early next week with highs near 70 both Monday and Wednesday with Tuesday near 80 right in between! There will be higher humidity Monday with a chance for scattered showers and storms. Tuesday is looking mainly dry and sunnier- it is going to feel more like early summer!

Have a good evening!
