St. Louis area forecast: After the flash floods Sunday morning, hot & humid

The heat index soars to 100-107 Monday

ST. LOUIS — Overnight storms with constant lightning also generated heavy rainfall resulting in flash flooding for many parts of St. Louis and St. Charles counties in MO & Madison Co. in IL. Rain totals ranged from 3 to 7 inches, most of which fell in just a few hours.

Stifling heat & humidity for the rest of Sunday. The feels like temperature will push over 100 degrees. A few storms will fire up later.

Monday we will see highs in the mid 90s and it will feel for like 100 to 107 degrees. The week ahead will be unsettled with scattered storms expected every day. Temperatures will be a touch cooler after Monday.

Sunday Night: Showers and storms are possible, partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 70s.

Monday: Few showers and storms, otherwise partly cloudy. Very hot and humid. Highs in the low to mid 90s. 100+ degree afternoon heat index. 

Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, otherwise partly to mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Wednesday: Spot showers and thunderstorms, otherwise partly to mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid to upper 80s. 

Thursday: Spot showers and thunderstorms, otherwise partly to mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid to upper 80s. 

Friday: Spot showers and thunderstorms, otherwise partly to mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid to upper 80s. 

Saturday: Partly cloudy, slim storm chance. Highs in the mid to upper 80s.
