Meet Crew, the three-year-old Clive boy who loves waving to the garbage truck workers every week. He looks forward to the Thursday waste pick-up every week, and his mother hopes he never grows out of this joy.

Local 5’s Elias Johnson traveled to a special young boy’s home to highlight how he handles battles both on the mat and in the hospital; Yanno has leukemia. 

Scenic Silos in Fort Dodge

Local 5 took to the worn down silos greeting visitors into Fort Dodge in the fall. They were transformed by an Australian artist.

Iowan Brady Yeoman’s Rescue

In January, we followed the story of a young man named Brady who dropped everything to rescue residents in a condo fire on the first of the year. 

Maddie Poppe Mania

Iowa native Maddie Poppe wowed viewers when she advanced through the tryouts and the competition of ‘American Idol’ in the spring. We were there when she toured her hometown again with ‘Idol’ personnel in tow, and we were there live when she won the entire competition and became America’s next ‘Idol.’
