After a motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon in an Ames crash, the driver of the vehicle involved has been cited for not stopping at a stop sign.
27-year-old Robert Fink failed to stop at the intersection of South Duff Ave and South 2nd St, according to the Ames Police Department. Fink's vehicle ran into a motorcycle driven by 29-year-old Kyle Crozier.
Crozier died in the accident.
A roadside memorial has been set up to honor Crozier.
"He was nice and super funny. I went to high school with him," said Laci Rolfes, a friend of Kyle's. "I was shocked, I couldn't believe it."
Officers were first called to the intersection near South Duff Avenue and South 2nd Street to check on a crash with a motorcycle and another car around 4:45 p.m. Sunday.
"It's one of our busiest roadways in the city so we see frequent accidents," said Cmdr. Jason Tuttle with Ames PD.
