WILLIAMS - A northern Iowa truck stop that opened more than 40 years ago is closing this month.
Owner of Boondocks, Bob Welch, and his wife will be closing the cafe and gas station on October 20. They plan to auction off the memorabilia. Welch said that he's thankful for all the waitresses and staff who have worked at the place for years. He said he's helped put so many of his employees through college.
Hundreds of locals and people traveling on I-35 north have passed through the truck stop, dining at the cafe and pumping gas.
