DALLAS COUNTY - A motorcyclist that attempted to elude deputies has been arrested, according to the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.
A caller reported that a male was riding a motorcycle Tuesday afternoon around 2:40 p.m. west of Waukee on Highway 6. The man was driving "erratically", according to the caller, and deputies located the motorcyclist.
The driver, identified as 19-year-old Chase Brian Knowles, accelerated away from deputies in the 24000 block of Highway 6. Deputies then initiated a pursuit, but Knowles refused to stop. The pursuit continued through Adel and all the way to Redfield on Highway 6.
Knowles lost control of the motorcycle after what appeared to be an equipment malfunction, and was subsequently arrested.
Knowles has been charged with the following: Eluding; Possession of Controlled Substance (meth); Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device; Unsafe Passing; Speeding (work zone); Speeding (2 other counts); Registration Violation; Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability; No Valid Motorcycle License.
Knowles' motorycle has been impounded, and he is being kept at the Dallas County Jail on a $10,000 cash/surety bond.
