While state universities have increased tuition rates for next year, Des Moines Area Community College is keeping their rates the same.
DMACC is set to remain at $156 per cred hour, which won’t fluctuate despite rising education costs at public colleges and universities statewide.
The new rate will be $156 per credit hour, rather than $157, and remains the lowest tuition and fees of any college or university in the State. The DMACC Board of Trustees approved the rollback at their monthly meeting.
“Working together with us, as administration, and staff and faculty, we’ve been able to keep the costs really low,” said DMACC Vice President Stan Jensen. “But we are also very thankful for the legislature and Governor Reynolds for helping restore some of the cuts statewide to community colleges.”
More than 30,000 students currently attend DMACC.
