Fred Hubbell won the Democratic nomination for governor outright Tuesday night.
Hubbell topped Kathy Glasson, Dr. Andy McGuire and John Norris. State Senator Nate Boulton dropped out of the campaign before the primary.
"Tonight's results send a very strong message," Hubbell said during his victory speech in Des Moines. "Iowa voters have had enough of the partisan, misguided policies and priorities that have taken our state backward."
Hubbell will challenge incumbent Gov. Kim Reynolds (R) and Libertarian Jake Porter in the general election November 6.
