Hundreds of DOT plows out clearing Wednesday morning snow

DES MOINES – More than 600 plows were out working around 5 a.m. clearing interstates and highways on Wednesday morning.

According to the DOT’s website, plows were out overnight, plowing snow and treating slick spots. As of 5 a.m., more than $550,000 was used to treat roads and pay plow truck drivers. 73 percent of Iowa roads were at least partially covered in the morning.
