Iowa Beef Expo kicks off in Polk County

DES MOINES - Students from Iowa colleges and high schools showcased their cattle during the week-long Iowa Beef Expo. 

On Sunday morning, students competed in the judging contest for top cow. There were four classes:  4H, FFA, junior, and senior collegiate.  Each level had team and individual results.

Students also gave a speech about why their livestock was the best. It was an extensive contest, with each contestant expected to give at least three to six reasons.
