Iowa DNR warns swimmers and their pets of blue-green algae

DES MOINES – The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is advising swimmers to avoid several lakes in Iowa because of something dangerous in the water.

In other states, this toxin has been deadly and killed pets.

Gray’s Lake in Des Moines tests their water every week, and is clear of high algae levels.
